Founder and Managing Partner

Gerard L. Pennefather is Founder and Chairman of The Huntington Group, comprising Huntington Partners, Huntington Capital Partners and Huntington Search Partners.  Huntington largely owns, operates, and invests in companies focused on the (re)insurance as well as the human capital industry in Asia.

A Chartered Accountant by training, he started his career as a corporate raider and has extensive investment banking experience.

He is also Chairman of Nexus Structured Solutions and Non-Executive Chairman of Nexus Underwriting Asia and is also an independent director of Transamerica Life Bermuda in Hong Kong, Singapore and Bermuda.

He currently resides in Singapore and divides his time between Asia and Europe.



Managing Partner, IMEA & Europe

Ece Berkun is Managing Partner, IMEA & Europe of Huntington Partners and Managing Partner Turkey and has more than 20 years of international industry experience; having held executive roles in Turkey, Germany and Singapore with a regional scope; assignments in Thailand, Canada and Brazil; project-based consulting assignments across Europe (UK, Italy, France, Belgium, etc.). Ece is mathematician by training and responsible for Huntington’s business in Turkey.

Ece has held various multifunctional and multicultural leadership roles. During her 15 years with the Allianz Group, she was directly engaged in the development and implementation of key global, strategic initiatives sponsored by the Allianz SE Board such as; TOM/AOM & Operational Transformation Program, Sustainability, Customer Focus, Innovation, and Moving Towards Cultural Excellence. She obtained OPEX-Sigma certified Black Belt since 2006 and currently sits on the Board of two companies, Dogus Etiket A.S and Skor Veri A.Ş.

Ece graduated from Boğaziçi University in Istanbul in 1998 and currently resides in Turkey.


Managing Partner

Steve Puckett is Managing Partner of Huntington Capital Partners, having been with the group for 20 years, focussing mostly on industrials and emerging businesses and funds. He has extensive international experience, with most of that time developing and leading businesses in Asia.

In addition to his role with Huntington, he owns energy and transition advisory businesses with a network of professionals throughout Asia and provides independent strategic advice to the private equity, venture capital and corporate investment communities.

He has held senior executive positions in Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore, and has had extensive responsibilities as Vice President for Asia Pacific with a major international energy business.  His reach and experience extend across Asia, the Middle East, Europe and the US. He has managed multi-billion-dollar operations, directed large groups of professionals and carried regional accountabilities. He has developed investment funds, managed acquisitions and guided large-scale change in organisations. 

He has served as President of the British Chamber of Commerce and has had held several academic governance and non-profit roles. He is an Eminent Fellow of the Energy Institute, a Fellow of the IChemE and Fellow of the IES.

He currently resides in Singapore.



Chief Executive Officer

Serene Yee is Chief Executive Officer of Huntington Search Partners and Huntington Capital Partners.  She has been with the Group since 2011, responsible for the full spectrum of talent advisory projects of all clients across Asia Pacific.

Serene has 25 years of HR experience, with demonstrated success in the fintech, financial services, and hospitality industries. She is a seasoned HR business Leader in the different fields of human resource management, including Talent Acquisition, HR Advisory, Operational Development, Staff Engagement, Performance and Reward Management, Succession, and Career Planning.

She has been the Key Account Manager for multiple regional retainer assignments and supported a China Investment Group to establish its regional office and fintech business in Singapore. Her last corporate appointment was with a global banking insurance entity as its Head of Human Resources.

She obtained her Bachelors degree from the National University of Singapore and has a graduate diploma in HRM from Singapore Institute of Management.

She currently resides in Singapore.



Tony Egerton is a Senior Partner of Huntington for more than 15 years, focussing on its insurance interests.  He has 35 years of experience in (re)insurance and structured finance. After spending 15 years in the London insurance market, as both a broker and an underwriter, he has been in Asia ever since, initially in Hong Kong with Centre Solutions – Zurich Group’s finite risk and structured finance subsidiary, and then more recently as President, Asia-Pacific for Lloyd’s of London, based in Singapore.

On behalf of Huntington, Tony is a Director of several regional (re)insurance businesses, as well as being the Principal Officer of Nexus Structured Solutions Limited (fka Huntington Underwriting Limited), a Labuan Underwriting Manager which is part of the larger Nexus Underwriting Group.

Tony has a Master’s Degree in Economics from Cambridge University, holds a MBA from the London Business School, is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and is also a Certified Executive Coach.

He currently resides in Singapore.



Devadas Krishnadas is an Advisor to Huntington. In addition to his role at Huntington, he is the founder and CEO of Future-Moves Group, a boutique consultancy focused on public policy and corporate strategy.

Prior to founding Future-Moves Group, Devadas played a leading role in developing Singapore’s fiscal and social policy where he led efforts in long term planning and strategic thinking. He served in the Singapore Armed Forces and then ten years with Singapore’s Police, including as Commanding Officer and Head of Operations. He served three years as Honorary Aide-de-Camp to the President of Singapore, the late President S.R. Nathan. He also served five years in public policy in multiple Ministries, including the Ministry of Finance.

He currently resides in Singapore.



Olivier Wallner has been a Partner of Huntington for more than 15 years, focussing on the axis of its Western Europe-Asia business.  He has an MBA from the leading French business school HEC. He joined a subsidiary of the BNP Group as a Private Banker in Africa and returned to France to become the BIAO Group’s treasurer.

He joined the Lazard Freres Group In 1989 and held the position of CFO of SOVAC until1996, when the Company was acquired by GECC. He was one of the founders and Chairman of AFGAP (the French Assets and Liabilities Management Association.) and was appointed Managing Director of Lazard Asia, in Singapore.

Later, Olivier set up the management advisory firm, Phoenix Management Asia, and has since been actively involved in helping global companies operating in the region undertake corporate restructuring and investment projects. He co-founded WP Capital in 2001 and subsequently joined Huntington.

He currently resides in Brussels.



Sanford Henry joined Huntington as an Advisor to focus on growing its Middle East-Europe-Asia business.

In addition to his role with Huntington, Sanford is Founder and Managing Director of Asset Solutions, which advises corporate clients and family offices on strategic investments, transatlantic trade, asset-based lending, acquisitions, due diligence and fund management.   He is also a partner of Global Resources Partnership, Strategic Thinker, Bosphorus Group, Senior Advisor to Dr.Schwarz-Schilling & Partners and MEC Consult (Middle East).

He has worked in over 40 countries for international companies in senior roles:  Edmond de Rothschild, Russia Partners (Siguler Guff), Polish Privatization Fund (Lazard), Polish and Hungarian-American Enterprise Funds (U.S. Government), Lazard Medical Ventures (Lazard), U.S. Leasing International, Inc (VP: Europe, Africa, Middle East & Asia), Holiday Inn, Groupe L’Express, Ford Motor Company and a journalist: WGBH & WHLS.  He has been a member of Financial Conduct Authority, Securities Institute and Board Director of over 20 companies.

Sanford has worked in politics and media in the US and internationally. He is a citizen of both the US and UK.  He completed a Masters thesis on German politics in the US with graduate study in Lausanne, Cologne and London. A Visiting Fellow at the Royal Institute of International Affairs researching transatlantic trade, he has mentored and lectured at Regent’s University and is now authoring: “Only Trade Works: A History of Transatlantic Trade”

He currently resides in London.



Tolga Sum is a Partner of Huntington since 2020. He has 25 years of experience in the Turkish Banking and Insurance Markets. He held executive positions in sales and distribution and has led transformation projects covering underwriting, digital distribution and operations. He is a graduate of Eastern Mediterranean University with a Bachelor of Business Administration.

He currently resides in Turkey.


Director, Head of Research, Analysis and Evaluation

Ngai Kay Cheung has led the Huntington Research, Analysis and Evaluation team for more than 5 years.   He has over 10 of years of experience in corporate finance, specialising in research and analysis in merger and acquisitions, capital raising, strategic advisory, due diligence, strategic and organizational reviews for companies, brokers, Lloyd’s syndicates, and private equity funds. He has successfully completed numerous projects, facilitating all stages of the deal process, ultimately helping clients divest and/or establish a footprint and, expand their businesses in the region.

He is a graduate of Singapore Management University with a Bachelor of Accountancy majoring in finance

Recruitment Lead

Maryann began her career in the Executive Search practice when she joined Huntington in 2002, she has amassed a deep understanding of the Asia Pacific region, and is well versed in hiring for corporate and specialists  skillsets across all lines of business that covers Life/ General Insurance, Reinsurance, Brokers and Insurtech as well.  She has been closely involved with the various senior mandates within Singapore and across Asia. Maryann enjoys bringing talent to the forefront, and in doing so making sure that every successful hire brings about success for the client.

She currently resides in Singapore.



Büke started her accounting career with the big four accounting firms & banks, and now a strong business development professional with her key strength being Accounting, Auditing and Financial Market Research. She is a graduate from Università Bocconi, with a Bachelor of Science majoring in Economics, Finance and Management, and obtained her Masters in International Relations from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, specialized in Emerging Markets.

She currently resides in Turkey.



Janice has been with Huntington since 2007, and has been instrumental in the business expansion outside Singapore. Her recruiting experience, combined with perseverance and an intuitive skill for assessing individual talent capabilities, has enabled her to complete various assignments across Asia Pacific and Europe. She is versatile and able to execute successful placements of C-Suite positions as well as middle level roles.

She currently resides in Singapore.



Can has a legal background, majored in development economics, green economics and organizational theory. He has done internships in multinationals and local retail companies. He is a graduate from University of Bocconi Milano, with a Bachelor of International Economics and Management.

He currently resides in Turkey.


Research Analyst

Carol started her career with a global bank and was with the banking industry for more than a decade. She joined Huntington in 2004, gaining first-hand knowledge and in-depth experience of the (re)insurance and broking sectors. Since then, she has been working closely with the consultants and partners, providing comprehensive insights and research support in numerous projects, covering Singapore and Asia Pacific.
